316L surgical stainless steel is the everyday standard for body jewellery and the largest part of our range. It is hard-wearing, holds a mirror polish, and is priced so that having several pieces in rotation is realistic.

316L does contain a small amount of nickel bound into the alloy. Most people wear it without any trouble, but if you have ever reacted to costume jewellery or a watch back, implant-grade titanium is the safer choice — particularly for a piercing that is still healing.
