Professional piercing tools

This range covers the stainless and surgical steel hand tools piercers actually use: slotted and standard Pennington forceps, navel and tongue clamps, septum tweezers, flared and multi-angled receiving tubes, ring openers and closers, internally threaded insertion tapers, dermal-anchor holders and hemostats, and threading pliers for bioflex and PTFE pins. Prices start at $4.99.

Buying the right tool

Clamps hold tissue steady and give a clean target; receiving tubes back a needle exit safely on curved work like septum and rim piercings; tapers guide jewellery through an existing channel — ours are internally threaded so jewellery follows the taper directly; and ring pliers open and close captive bead rings without scratching them. Choose stainless tools if you autoclave between uses, and keep single-use items single-use.

Piercing should be done by trained hands — these tools are stocked for professionals and for jewellery changes, not as an at-home piercing invitation. If you run a studio, our wholesale store Piercing Supplies Australia carries this range in trade quantities alongside sterile needles.

Tools & equipment FAQs

Do you sell piercing needles?

Yes — sterile cannula and blade needles live in our Sterile Piercing range alongside pre-sterilised jewellery, while this category covers the reusable hand tools.

What are Pennington forceps used for?

Penningtons are the triangular-tipped clamps piercers use to hold and steady tissue. The slotted versions let the needle and jewellery pass through the clamp itself, which is why they are the studio standard for lip, navel and similar piercings.

What is a receiving tube for?

A receiving tube sits on the exit side of a piercing and catches the needle safely — essential for septum work and other piercings where fingers would otherwise be in the needle’s path. Multi-angled tubes give a choice of approach angles on one tool.

Can these tools be sterilised?

The stainless steel tools are designed to be cleaned and autoclaved between uses. Anything sold as sterile/disposable is single-use — once the pouch is open or the item used, discard it.

Can I use these to pierce myself at home?

We do not recommend it. Piercing safely is about training, anatomy and sterile technique, not just owning the tools — see a professional piercer, and use this range for maintenance and jewellery changes.
